This really is THE  family favourite … and sharing it with you has been met with some resistance !

From our organic, pasture-for-life veal (never fed grain)! Onglet which is also known as the Hanger Steak is in fact offal and best cooked on the BBQ as a steak.  Also delicious slow cooked. It has a deep beefy flavour due to its location close to the liver.  Also very nutritious !

We present it as a whole piece including its characteristic central sinew which importantly holds it together when cooked.


Shelf-life & Storage: Minimum shelf-life 7 days. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 3 days and by ‘use by date’ shown. Suitable for home freezing.

Our Veal comes from 7 – 10 month old calves which are not separated from their mothers at birth but stay with them and the rest of the herd until natural weaning begins to take place. They are never fed grain. In addition to veal calves  from our own beef herd, we also work with The Finlays of Rainton Farm, Dumfries (The Ethical Dairy). This system of veal farming is commended by Compassion in World Farming. More about Provenance here.
